Introducing the AMW4

Need to hire an affordable LED wash light with superior colour mixing and a punchy output?

What if Red, Green, Blue and White chips weren’t enough? No problems here. With the addition of Lemon, Amber and Ultra Violet richly deep saturated colours are as much a breeze to achieve as delicate pastel shades and gentle tones!

Did we mention the UV? Underwater ballet anyone?

Flicker free and with a banging zoom range of 6 to 60 degrees these nifty units quickly attach with omega locks and just to make life even easier they have Powercon In and Out together with DMX connections in both 3 and 5 pin varieties so in desperation a mic cable could act as a link….we’ve all done it!

No Small Print

No small print required instead a couple of candid facts. The deliciously blended light pops up the light pipes and focuses through one of its 7 lenses forming a seamless beam. If you zoom right down to the most spotty of spots you will see some fringing around an octagonal beam. Widen it out by a couple of degrees and not only does that go away but unlike cheap and nasty pretenders to the throne the beam is a clean point source and its single shadow won’t render  a multicoloured nightmare.

The dimming is 8 bit and if you were to fade up over 20 seconds to 20 percent then yes it will look a bit steppy at the beginning. By switching to Mode 4 (done at the desk) the fades are smoothed even further and needless to say if you shorten the cue time or increase the intensity in the cue then the fades become as gracious as an old nun.

Reliable

We have used these on many occasions ourselves including 12 show weeks. On one occasion one unit required a reset. It’s a frightful embarrassment. As it turns out the light in question  was thoroughly bashed by a piece of scenery and it upset it a bit. Once those nasty cloths were rehung it came back to life and behaved like all of its siblings. Beautifully.

This reliable new thing won’t let you down. If it does we will replace it. It’s awfully well engineered so in the face of its failing the parts are logical and easy to replace.

A simple, complex and delightful machine.

Enjoy the Motson AMW4!
